Preparing to be a Naukar!!!
Here is the irony!!
People all over India..i guess all over world..work hard, devote their prime youth to get into a group which make them naukar (servant). Though a privileged one. It gives them opportunity to serve the people at grassroot level...alas!! few choose to serve those who eat grass (remember chara ghotala or fodder scam of Lalu ji?).
But inspite of all its inherent vice, its this one promise of placing one among the real masses of india, where he can contribute to a big extent, provided he remains loyal to himself, attracts me the most.
Certainly i am not of the view that its the most important post one can hold, for humanity will continue reaping benefits of a scientists discovery for ages, while its not often a case for a civil servants contribution. But yes..somebody got to do the job of providing fellow citizens right environment:social, political and economic in which they can scale new heights and take humanity to new pinnacles.
And its this aspect which makes this service noble.
MY PLAN
I have been preparing for civil services exam-2013 to be conducted by UPSC in three stages viz pre, mains and interview for quite a few time.
With all ups and downs, which is the hallmark of life, i am going strong and all i have to do is to keep improving.
Off course apprehensions of pattern change by UPSC has made things a bit more uncertain but come what few things will remain to dominate, as it should, and i have decided to stick to them till pattern is announced..that is general studies.
General studies: this innocent sounding subject is mischievous of all.
You read everything you think there is to be read and yet UPSC can surprise you in this section..ever dynamic and contains everything one and think of and more..isint it what our ancestors called GOD??
I have decided to keep things simple..read daily newspaper and monthly magazines..but read it well..between the lines. That i think the best and only way to understand world around and also to maximize marks:)
Certainly books like D D Basu and Bipan Chandra are bible, without which i wonder can one prepare.
As far as optionals are concerned, it all depends on UPSC mandate of changing or not changing the pattern..fingures crossed!!
Lets see!!
PS: have started blogging..plan is one blog a week..to learn how to consolidate view and how to take a holistic view on something.
Hope it will be worthy!!
again: I am writing my blogs while blogger is constantly reminding me that my browser is no longer supported..so few things may get mixed up.
